Google Cloud Next and 2018’s other top cloud conferences [Updated]

With all of the cloud conferences (like Google Cloud Next) out there, figuring out which ones you and your company should attend or sponsor can be a bit challenging and pretty resource intensive. Over the years, AODocs has gone to a ton of these events. Instead of keeping our insights filed away on a Google Sheet (since we’ve already done most of the work), we wanted to share our tips on the best places to be in 2018. So, here are our favorite cloud events that are happening this year. We’ve also noted the events where we’ll be present, so give us a shout if you’re there too!

AODocs at Google Cloud Next

When? July 24-27, 2018
Where? San Francisco, USA

Google Cloud Next is the premier conference for anyone interested in what Google Cloud is going to do next. Last year’s enterprise-focused conference attracted over 10,000 attendees and featured some big announcements on everything from AI to partnerships. Google is promising that this year’s conference will be even bigger. If you’re a Google Cloud customer, partner, or developer, circle these dates on your calendar.

Given how closely we work with Google, it shouldn’t come as a shocker that we’re going to be there too. Don’t be afraid to come by our booth and say “hi!” and pick up some cool swag! Also, check out our event guide to get our picks for this year's can't-miss sessions.

Gartner Catalyst Conference

When? August 20-23, 2018
Where? San Diego, USA

The Gartner Catalyst Conference is focused on giving you “practical solutions, actionable advice, & principled objectivity.” That’s something that we can get onboard with. Designed with technical professionals in mind, this year’s conference will concentrate on the cloud, the Internet of Things, edge computing, devops, big data, business intelligence, and analytics. In addition to the traditional networking opportunities and workshops, this conference gives you the unique chance to have one-on-one meetings with Gartner analysts and join in on “analyst-user roundtables.”

When? October 10-11, 2018
Where? London, UK

For those who won't be able to make it to San Francisco, Google is hosting a Google Cloud Next event in London from October 10th to 11th. This conference (like many of the others) has just received an official event date. However, registration hasn't opened yet. So, we'd recommend watching the official event website to be the first to know when you'll be able to sign up. AODocs will be on-site at the event, so don't be afraid to stop by our booth.

Web Summit

When? November 5-8, 2018
Where? Lisbon, Portugal

When it comes to technology, Web Summit is one of the biggest conferences in the world. Web Summit 2017 had over 60,000 attendees and featured 1,200 expert speakers. Some of their past presenters include Elon Musk, Al Gore, Bono, Jack Dorsey, and Stephen Hawking, so it’s safe to say that you’re going to learn a lot. Much like their star-studded speaker lineup, the exhibitor roster is equally impressive. You’ll be able to visit companies like Google, Facebook, Amazon, YouTube, IBM, KPMG, and Microsoft.

When? November 6-8, 2018
Where? Washington DC, USA

KMWorld brings the best and brightest in knowledge management together in one place. Focusing on cutting-edge information management tools and techniques, you'll learn how to address the rapid changes in digital information management and employ future-focused knowledge sharing strategies. AODocs' CEO, Stéphane Donzé, will be speaking (spoiler: you won't want to miss his presentation). So, we'd definitely recommend attending if you work in the knowledge management sphere.

If you’re having trouble making it to one of the Google Cloud Next conferences in San Francisco or London, don’t worry. Google will be hosting Google Cloud Summit events in cities all around the world throughout 2018. Summits will be happening in Mexico City, New York, Paris, Hong Kong, Chicago, Mumbai, Sydney, Washington D.C., Singapore, Seattle, Tel Aviv, Toronto, Bangkok, Munich, Stockholm, Jakarta, Amsterdam, Mumbai, São Paulo, Milan, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, Madrid, and Osaka. Here's a list of the dates that we know about right now:

Some of the event dates are still TBA. So, keep an eye on your local event website to see when the 2018 date will be announced. AODocs will be doing the Google Cloud Summit world tour this year, so look for us at your local Summit.

Cloud Expo Europe

When? March 21-22, 2018 [Check it out next year]
Where? London, UK

Featuring hundreds of exhibitors and expert speakers, it’s not a big surprise that Cloud Expo Europe is the UK’s biggest technology conference. Last year, the lineup of presenters included thought leaders from Facebook, Capgemini, and Adidas. Many of the major cloud technology companies were there as exhibitors as well. If you’re an IT professional who is interested in the latest and greatest in cloud technology, this conference is a must-attend.

When? May 1-2, 2018 [Check it out next year]
Where? San Jose, USA

F8 is Facebook’s biggest conference of 2018. If it’s anything like last year’s event, you’ll be the first to know about the latest updates and all the new products that Facebook is working on. If you and your company work alongside Facebook, this event should almost be considered mandatory. AODocs will definitely be in attendance.

Where? San Francisco, USA

If you’re a SaaS company or doing anything related to SaaS (think distributors, platforms, API creators, or investors), SaaS Connect is worth adding to your calendar. This conference is perfect for getting to know the who’s who of the SaaS industry. With attendees like Amazon, Dropbox, Google, HubSpot, Microsoft, and Zapier, you’ll have lots to talk about. If you’re still not convinced, we’re going to be in attendance too. So, come meet us in person!

Cloud Expo USA

When? June 5-7, 2018 [Check it out next year]
Where? New York City, USA

Cloud Expo brings everything “cloud” together at a single conference. This year’s conference will feature 120 keynote speakers who will delve into subjects like enterprise cloud computing, digital transformation, and machine learning. You’ll also have the chance to link up with the over 100 exhibitors and see how some of their products work at the Demo Theater.

DataCloud Europe 2018

When? June 12-14, 2018 [Check it out next year]
Where? Monaco

When it comes to data center, cloud, and edge infrastructure, DataCloud Europe 2018 is one of the most important events that will happen this year. This conference brings industry leaders, investors, and enterprise customers together in beautiful Monaco to make valuable connections and learn about the newest best practices.
